Serious Injury Attorney in Mobile, Alabama

Patellar Tendon Disruption

The lawyers at McAleer Law are here to answer your questions if you have suffered from knee injuries caused by the negligence of another.  An Alabama personal injury lawyer can assist you in determining if you have a viable personal injury claim.

Patellar tendon disruption, or tearing of the quadriceps tendon, is common in aging athletes and those with certain chronic medical problems, and in persons who are involved in slip and fall accidents or when there is nursing home neglect where unstable residents are left unsupervised.

If the knee joint is flexed, and a force is suddenly directed forward across the femur, the usual safeguards are overcome and the ligament may be torn. Traumatic disruption of the knee joint extensors usually results from climbing or descending stairs, running, or jumping. The strong extensors of the knee are contracted in an effort to stabilize the knee joint when one slips. The muscle itself may be torn, or the patellar tendon may be disrupted or even torn away from its insertion on the tibia.

The lawyers at McAleer Law are here to assist you and answer your questions when you have suffered from a knee injury caused by the carelessness of another. Call a Mobile Personal Injury Attorney at McAleer Law - 251-341-0116.
